WAEC Update Amidst Corona Virus

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) scheduled to take place on 6th of April 2020 has been put on hold by the West African Examination Council.

This decision was taken due to the rapid spread of the deadly disease Corona Virus currently in circulation in the world. The pandemic has proven to be a threat to human life and has generated anxiety among individuals.

The Council is using the medium to exercise its support in fighting the deadly disease that originated from the country China.

The council in adhering to the various protocols being put in place by the Federal and State Governments of Nigeria and the governments of the other member countries has suspended the forthcoming WASSCE Examination to guarantee the safety of the candidates.

With the latest development in the country, the earlier released Timetable for the conduct of the examination is hereby suspended until further notice.

We wish to assure all candidates, schools presenting candidates for the examination, all stakeholders, and indeed, the general public that this decision will be reviewed once the health situation improves.

We enjoin all school principals presenting candidates for the examination to please inform their candidates accordingly. A new date for the commencement of the examination will be communicated to schools and all stakeholders in due course.
